The 2023 Big Hill Bonk has been cancelled
Wisconsin's first "last runner standing" was inspired by the Barkley Marathons’ creator, Gary Cantrell, aka Lazarus Lake, who started the original Big Dog’s Backyard Ultra, more races of this format have been popping up around the world. This is one of them.
COVID-19 took our inaugural 2020 event and Golden Ticket away.
However,we are super excited to announce that the inaugural Big Hill Bonk has been selected again by Lazarus Lake himself to be a 2021 Golden Ticket event for the 2021 Big Dog's Backyard Ultra. What this means is that the winner of the Big Hill Bonk will receive automatic entry into the original Backyard Ultra Race put on by the Barkley Marathon's creator Lazarus Lake for a chance to compete alongside some of the best names in the sport.
